Answering the Call to Lead: Celebrating 30 Years of Black Women Legal Pioneers
The MBWA would like to thank all of the organization's members and friends for attending its 30th Anniversary Celebration held at the InterContinental Boston Hotel on Saturday, September 24, 2011. We are grateful for all the support.
We are proud to have honored The Honorable Denise J. Casper, the first African-American female federal district judge for the District of Massachusetts and Dean Camille A. Nelson, the first Black woman to head the Suffolk University Law School, the fourth largest law school in the U.S., as our Ida B. Wells Award recipients for being legal pioneers. We also would like to thank the First Lady of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Partner at Ropes & Gray LLP, Diane B. Patrick for being our keynote speaker, a legal pioneer and leader in her own right.
